These rounded amphora-shaped glass canning jars recall the ancient tradition of preserving foods in oil. The jars have an elegant, sophisticated shape and are ideal for jam, jelly, relish, chutney, and sauces. The screw-on, one-piece metal caps have a soft rubber gasket on the interior of the cap which ensures a venting effect during processing, allowing steam to escape and creating a vacuum which seals the caps onto the jars.

Vacuum caps are designed for one-time use only.
For best results, fill the jar with room-temperature prepared recipes, leaving recommended headspace. Wipe jar rim and threads with a clean, damp cloth removing any stickiness. Place the cap on the jar and twist until the cap is in contact with the glass rim; tighten with moderate strength. After processing, leave the jars in the water until they are completely cool. Ensure that a hollow has been formed in the middle of the cap; if a hollow has not formed, repeat the process with a new lid.
